DOLPHIN INTERACTION

Enter the water to get up-close and personal as you befriend a dolphin in the dolphin interaction program. Experience the thrill of feeding, touching, and interacting with one of our enchanting bottlenose dolphins while in the water. This is an experience you’ll be sure to remember. Program Details

$130 per participant.  General Admission to Ocean Adventures Marine Park is included with program only when booked online in advance. Limited spots available, please book online in advance. 

Get in the water with one of our resident dolphins! Participants will touch, feed, and receive a photo opportunity with one of our resident dolphins, all while standing in the water right next to our dolphins! This program lasts approximately 45 minutes, including an information session, time to change into a bathing suit, and 15 minutes in the water interacting with our dolphins.

  • Observers watching the experience must be booked as a spectator add-on ($27 per spectator–includes general admission into Ocean Adventures Marine Park when booked online in advance). They will be allowed to stand poolside and take photos.
  • $35 USB is available for purchase. Our photographers will capture your entire experience and provide you with at least 10 photos on a USB.
  • Participants must be at least 48” tall AND at least 8 years old.
  • Pregnant women will not be allowed to participate.
  • Dress appropriately. A bathing suit is recommended. Shorts and a shirt are allowed as long as they are not loose or flowing.
  • No flip flops. Water shoes are available for use. We recommend bringing your own towel
  • Multiple participants per session. This is not a private session. You may share this experience with other guests.
  • Participants must have the ability to enter and exit the pool without assistance and follow verbal instruction.
  • This program requires moderate physical fitness.  Any physical impairment such as inability to walk, confinement to wheelchair, unable to kneel, seizures, heart conditions, or other medical issues or special needs must be disclosed prior to booking this program and may limit participation. If you have any of these conditions, please call 228.896.9182 or email contactus@imms.org  for assistance in booking or alternate programming options.  Failure to adhere to Program Requirements may result in IMMS cancelling your program without a refund. 

  • No one with an open wound that needs a bandage larger than a 1″ band aid will be allowed in the pool.
  • No one that is visibly sick and/or distressed will be allowed to participate. 
  • No loose personal items such as jewelry, chains, loose earrings, and anklets, bracelets, cameras or anything with the potential to be pulled loose from participant may be brought into the pool.
  • Participants must be free of open wounds and show no signs of illness.
  • While the animal is present, participants must await the trainer’s instructions before attempting to touch or interact with the dolphin. The participant should not reach out and touch any animal until he/she has permission from the trainer.
  • While in the water, participants must keep both of their feet on the floor of the pool at all times and await the trainer’s instructions before attempting to touch or interact with the dolphin. The participant should not reach out and touch any animal until he/she has permission from the trainer.
  • While entering/exiting the water and while in the water the participant is to comply with any instructions from the trainer.
  • While the trainer is assisting another guest with a dolphin, or while the trainer is working with the dolphin, do not try to interact with any dolphins in any way. Keep hands on the side of the pool or at your side while idle in the water.
  • Failure to comply with the directions or instructions given by a trainer or any authorized representative of the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies or Ocean Adventures will result in ending of the experience.
  • All Experience Programs: Please remember that no animal is to be touched without explicit instructions and supervision from our staff. Please do not put any items in or over our animal habitats. Please be aware that all programs have some element outside and will require a light amount of walking. It is recommended guests pay attention to the weather and dress accordingly. Outside elements of any program may be canceled due to weather by IMMS.
  • Participant must wear shoes with straps, no flip-flops

  • Water shoes can be provided.
  • Participant must bring their own towel.

Cancellations must be made via e-mail to bills@imms.org.  Due to our cancellation fees, it is important to e-mail as soon as possible.  If you need additional assistance, please call 228-896-9182.

A refund less the processing fee will be issued for cancellations made at least 14 days in advance of program date. A 50% refund less the processing fee will be issued for cancellations made between 13 and 7 days in advance of program date. No refunds will be given for cancellations made less than seven days in advance of program date.  Late arrivals or no shows will forfeit program participation and receive no refund.
